3rd Greater Bay Area Ski Competition kicks off

The 3rd Greater Bay Area Ski Competition kicked off in Guangzhou with over 200 participants on June 18th, making it the largest and most attended event since its inception.

Lasting for one day, the competition consisted of two parallel-slalom events for both skiing and snowboarding with youth and adult groups, in which the adult group was further divided into general and elite levels.

Skiers from 6 to 53 years old came from all over the country, including Guangdong, Hunan, Anhui, Fujian, Heilongjiang, and Shanxi. It is worth mentioning that 12 of the players are from Hong Kong and Macau.

It is worth noting that the rankings of skiers in the current competition would be counted for the first time towards the corresponding points in the Hot Snow Miracle National Skiing Competition, whose 2023/24 season is currently underway.

Indoor skiing competition in the hot summer: "Novel and thrilling"

Du Zhonghui, the third-place skier from the general group for men"s ski parallel slalom who travelled specially from Harbin, said that the experience of indoor skiing competitions during the hot summer in the south was quite novel, challenging, and "very thrilling".

Wang Yuelong, a 10-year-old boy with rich skiing experience of six years, won the championship in the U10 men"s ski parallel slalom events and expressed his hope of becoming a professional skier one day.

On the day of the competition, a skiing carnival was also held on-site, featuring activities such as crawling games on the snow and speed-guessing challenges, allowing snow enthusiasts to experience the unique pleasure of experiencing "-6℃ in summer". In the Cosplay costume games, participants dressed up as their favourite characters, turning the event into a creative and fun social gathering.

"Make southern people love snow with their first touch"

The GBA Ski Competition has sparked a craze for snow sports in Guangzhou during the hot summer.

Xu Guoyuan, the executive vice president of the Guangdong Ice and Snow Sports Association, said, "We hope to promote ice and snow sports in schools and communities through competitions, thereby improving the vigorous development of ice and snow sports in Guangdong."

来自盛夏的冰雪激情！第三届粤港澳大湾区滑雪精英挑战赛开赛

6月18日，第三届粤港澳大湾区滑雪精英挑战赛在广州鸣锣开赛，吸引了超过200名选手参赛，是赛事举办以来参赛选手人数最多、规模最大的一届。

超200百名选手参赛，历届人数最多

本届赛事为期1天，设置双板平行回转、单板平行回转两个比赛项目，分成人组和青少年组，其中成人组比赛分为大众组、精英组两个水平类别。

选手们来自广东、湖南、安徽、福建、黑龙江、山西等多地，有12名选手来自港澳地区。从参赛者年龄来看，最小6岁，最大53岁。

据悉，热雪奇迹全国滑雪赛事2023/24赛季正在火热进行，本次参赛选手获得的成绩排名，首次可计入热雪奇迹全国滑雪赛事对应名次积分。

盛夏南国室内滑雪竞赛“新奇、过瘾”

专程从哈尔滨赶来的男子双板平行回转大众组季军选手杜忠慧表示，在盛夏的南国体验室内滑雪赛事十分新奇且具有挑战性，“非常过瘾”。

年仅10岁的汪玥隆小朋友获得青少年U10男子双板平行回转的冠军，拥有6年“雪龄”的他比赛经验丰富。汪玥隆表示，希望有朝一日成为一名专业的滑雪运动员。

比赛当天，现场还增设了休闲娱乐的趣味滑雪嘉年华，包括雪地毛毛虫、竞速猜时挑战等趣味赛，一众雪友畅快体验了一把“-6℃过夏天”的别样乐趣。在Cosplay变装大赛中，雪友们各出奇招，扮演自己喜爱的角色，现场化为一场别开生面的交友派对。

“让南方人从接触雪到爱上雪”

滑雪赛的举办为盛夏羊城掀起冰雪运动热潮。

广东省冰雪运动协会常务副会长许国院表示，“希望用竞赛带动冰雪运动进校园、进社区，从而推动广东冰雪运动的大力发展。”

广州融创文旅城总经理、广州热雪奇迹总经理孙铮表示，未来，广州热雪奇迹将打造出更多样化、专业化、有影响力的冰雪赛事及活动，“让南方人从接触雪到爱上雪。”
